I believe in an efficient state government, one which serves the needs of its
people and does not take away our rights. We cannot allow unnecessary expansion
of state government and state budgets need to be held to increases that do not
exceed the rate of inflation.
State Budgets must use solid figures to estimate the
growth in revenue. We cannot rely on inflated figures and cannot keep raising
fees to make up for budget shortfalls.
In the case
where a surplus is created from a state budget, the surplus funds should be
placed in a rainy day fund to help plan for harder times. If our state is faced
with an emergency, whether it be a natural disaster or economic downfall, we
will be ready to fund the recovery.
