Most students think middle school isn't much, but middle school drives your whole future. That's why I'm happy to write about Shaun Doherty. Shaun graduated from Pelham Memorial School in 2002. He was involved in Tiger Tales, web club, and Drama while at PMS. "I enjoyed the great teachers and opportunities to find what my interests are," said Shaun. He also had a favorite teacher like most of us do. His was Mr. Rick Holmes. "He had a wealth of knowledge from personal experience, since he traveled to many of the places he taught about."

When he moved onto high school, he was President of his class and part of Future Business Leaders of America. He was involved in many state and local political campaigns, including helping Frank Guinta win the election for Mayor of Manchester in 2005. Next phase of life was college. Shaun went to Rivier College and graduated last year.

What is he doing now you ask? "I am serving my second term as State Representative, representing the towns of Hudson, Litchfield, and Pelham." In fact Shaun still lives in Pelham. Shaun also serves on the House Election Law Committee, and sponsored a bill to bring finance education to every high school in the state. Maybe one day one of us, the students, will rise to success just like Shaun Doherty.
